 Early Life

Former first daughter Jenna Welch Bush was born on November 25, 1981, in Dallas, Texas to Bush and his wife, Laura. Hager was born one minute after her fraternal twin sister, Barbara. She was named after her maternal grandmother Jenna Hawkins. Her paternal grandparents are former U.S. President George H.W. Bush and first lady Barbara Bush.

Hager graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in Austin, Texas, in 2000, the same year her father was elected president. As the Bush family settled into the White House, Jenna attended the University of Texas in Austin, where she began to attract attention as an underage partier. In April 2001, Hager was charged with possession of alcohol as a minor. The following month, she was charged with attempting to use her grandmother's ID to purchase alcohol. She pleaded no contest to both misdemeanours.

While at UT, Jenna became a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority and graduated in 2004 with a degree in English. She made several appearances with her sister on behalf of their father's re-election campaign, including a speech at the Republican Convention.
